After graduating from Boston College in 1990, Scott taught finance and accounting at a college in Belize, Central America for one year on a volunteer basis. In 1992 San Diego became his home and he started with Northwestern Mutual in September of 1992. His clientele consists of the "Who's Who" in the San Diego legal community. In addition, Scott works with a variety of businesses, from sole proprietors to large publicly traded companies, primarily on their executive benefits.

Scott has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) 8 times since 1996. He has become extremely involved in championing the causes of the financial services industry. Professional groups throughout the country have invited him to speak to their members, including the California Society of CPA's, law firms, corporations as well as elected officials in Sacramento.
